Higher education and the arts shouldn't be privileges for the few. Austerity that limits access stifles economic and cultural growth and limits personal and cultural fulfilment. Imagine a world where only white, middle-class youth can pursue higher education or create art.

A problem with so much mental health discourse, including philosophy of psychiatry, is that too often it’s a discourse *by* presumptively sane people *about* the mad, in the way you might hold a discourse about time, or particles, as if madness is a mere object of contemplation.

I saw an idea recently that I thought was lovely…public libraries that are open late every night so ppl can socialize, as an alternative to bars or sitting alone at home. Would be especially perfect for introverts to socialize comfortably and for older people who are lonely.
