In order to make The Zimbabwe Idai Recovery Project (ZIRP) irrigation schemes more resilient, #flexible and #strong gabion walls have been constructed. These will highly protect the environment as they allow water to flow through while retaining structure and shielding soil from being washed away.

Great visit to #Chimanimani to see firsthand how #WorldBank financing is supporting cyclone affected communities. Impressive rehabilitation by the The Zimbabwe Idai Recovery Project (ZIRP) of Gudyanga irrigation scheme, including solar power, to enhance agricultural productivity of 48 hectares.

Flash floods in Gudyanga have caused severe siltation threatening the productivity of the irrigation scheme. The Zimbabwe Idai Recovery Project (ZIRP) has constructed the largest gabion wall in Zimbabwe to protect the scheme. #WBfieldmission

The construction of Jopa Market Under The Zimbabwe Idai Recovery Project (ZIRP) is a development women like Mbuya Jabu have dreamed and hoped for, a safe roadside marketplace for community smallholder farmer traders mainly women and youths. #womenempowerment
