Wow! Thank you Zach for the kind words, as well as your journalistic integrity & story telling. So much truth and good in your words.I was letting the negative win. God speaks through so many of you, and I am blessed to have you in my life to fend of the darkness! ❤️🙏

Zach Alvira ArizonaVarsity.com 🔥PREPS🔥 Kevin McCabe There’s media posers who take pictures for a “media day shoot” w/ players posing in a room w/ prop beer bottles, prop cigarettes & prop money There’s some who magically end up right in the middle of the coach’s box Grateful for every legit media who’s in it for the kids 1st! 💙

This is an excellent (and eye-opening) read which I highly recommend to everyone who sees this post. They say that when you cut down a weed another grows in its place. However, they don’t say that about a rose, and when it comes to HS sports coverage, Kevin McCabe is a rose.

The feedback, both good and bad, is amazing to see. I truly appreciate each and every one of you for reading this column. Whether you think it’s great or terrible, I appreciate you taking the time. I grew up playing AZ HS sports and everything I wrote comes from the heart.

The Safford High district cracked down a couple of years ago by requiring things only a legitimate business would have, like liability insurance and vetted those that were credentialed. The then AD, Toni Corona, is now at the AIA.
