Kansas State is doing what it did when starting slow offensively against Kentucky, which is playing solid defense to keep it close when the shots aren't falling. USC is 2 of 12 to start, though the three offensive boards are a bit concerning for the Wildcats.

That USC 3 at the end of the first quarter hurts. Kansas State did a great job sticking around, but scoring 9 and being down 7 doesn't feel great.

Kansas State is on a 10-0 run to start the second quarter and leads 19-16. Sundell with 4 straight after going scoreless in the first.

An understatement but Serena Sundell clearly doesn't want this to be her last game as a Wildcat. She has 18 points after 3 and is 10 of 11 at the foul line.

That's the end of an era. Kansas State ends its season -- and the careers of Ayoka Lee, Jaelyn Glenn, Serena Sundell and Temira Poindexter -- with a 67-61 loss to USC in the Sweet 16.

Here's the bow I've tied on Kansas State's season; the careers of Ayoka Lee, Serena Sundell and Jaelyn Glenn; and my time covering this team through a busy, exciting and humbling three years. Thanks for reading. This beat was the highlight of my career. themercury.com/k_state_sports…
