I am live at the #Elections2024 Erewash count where the Conservatives are defending a 10,000 majority from 2019. Returning officer Jeremy Jaroszek said verification of postal votes has begun and with 120 people counting expects a smooth evening with results at 3am

Here at Erewash verification of postal votes is well advanced already. Interestingly, a number of Mid Derbyshire constituency votes will be verified here at the tennis centre in #Ilkeston before being sent to the Arena in #Derby to be counted. #Election2024

Verification of votes has been completed here at Erewash and counting should begin soon. Predicted result time is around 3am if there are no recounts Turnout is well down on 2019 - 60.39% compared to 68.3% four years ago

A lot of people didn't bother voting in #Erewash today in the #Election2024 for whatever reason. As we known already, The turnout was 60.39% which means 43,181 residents voted out of 71,501 eligible voters.

I have now transferred to the count at Wirksworth for Derbyshire Dales, where the Conservatives are defending a 17,000 + majority. I am told it's probably another 30 minutes before a declaration. #Election2024

The #DerbyshireDales count has been called close. Looking at the different candidates, the Conservatives with Sarah Dines are relaxed, Labour’s John Whitby is looking around the country itself while a lare number of people are watching the national results on tv

Clean sweep for Labour as the party adds Derbyshire Dales to the rest of the county haul. John Whitby, a Derby city councillor beat Conservative Sarah Dines by just 350 votes #elections2024

So pleased Derbyshire Live were able to bring this home from the RegionalPressAwards - an important campaign that we were able to drive forward with a great result for #Derby. Really enjoyed attending the event with Natalie Fahy and Rucsandra Moldoveanu

A thrill and an honour to be invited to the Regional Media reception at UK Prime Minister this evening - and to speak with Keir Starmer about the recent success of the Derbyshire Live Save Our Rail Industry campaign at the RegionalPressAwards, which he was pleased to hear about
