It’s great that Buckinghamshire Council are taking action against littering. We need more action like this to change behaviour of those who think it’s acceptable to litter.

Just 10 days until this event where I will be exhibiting a small selection of products I sell/promote in my shop.

While taking in a delivery at the shop, I saw someone come out of shop next door and stand there eating a Mars Bar while on his phone. He dropped the wrapper so I got the litter picker and picked the wrapper up and put it in the bin a few feet away. 1/2

He then began eating more sweets and dropping wrappers so I said “Have I got to stand here and pick up all the litter you drop and bin it?” Reply “Sorry mate, I didn’t see the bin.” Me “If there isn’t a bin, you put it in your pocket or hold onto it until there is a bin!” 😡

With more shops closing on our high streets, it’s time to make all independent shops exempt from business rates and increase them for the out of town giants. Bira The British Retail Consortium Retail Gazette

Just finished doing my autumn window. I always use real leaves (there’s plenty around) which always makes me wonder why so many shops use artificial. There’s too much waste around when we can use nature’s litter! #retail #windowdisplay #autumn

The energy contract for my shop was due to end on 30/09. However my current provider say I renewed. When welcome pack arrived it showed standing charge for 2 meters including a removed meter on floor! I sent email to cancel but they are being difficult. Any ideas? Lawyer Dean Dunham

Last night, I was proud to be the sponsor of the #OCEAN screening in Minehead. A powerful film which shocked many of what’s going on beneath the waves but, also gave us hope that recovery is possible. A film everyone should try and watch.

Perhaps one day, the people who use my herb planter outside the shop instead of the bin (literally 5 steps away) will leave me a winning scratch card? 🤔

Not only do I have to pick up Costa Coffee litter outside the front of my shop, the rear of my shop is littered with their waste from overflowing bins!

My suppliers get an email from me if they choose to use plastic tape etc., on their packaging. This one chose to fill the void with sticky-backed plastic! They could have used a much smaller box instead.

Apparently Biffa couldn’t get their vehicle into the car park to empty these bins at Costa Coffee Minehead. Biffa said they will attempt again on Tuesday but, with fireworks around, this is big fire risk for neighbouring businesses and flats above. Biffa still charge for calling

Small businesses are the way forward!
