I came to US for grad school 25 years ago, speaking poor English, not knowing driving. Mrs Ji rented me a room in her house and taught me cooking and many things. These nice Americans make immigrants like me feel home. I went back to Eugene, Oregon and spent time with her.

Thr4 phosphorylation in Pol II CTD is a "phantom mark," hidden until long after transcription ends! 👻 Our recent paper shows it's masked by nearby Ser5 phosphorylation, and we revealed it using a specific phosphatase. Read more: bit.ly/3MVNLTf #Transcription

The Zhang Lab This work builds on findings by numerous groups that phosphorylation can regulate CTD (and by extension, Pol II) condensation. Here we show CTD interaction proteins that recognize phosphorylation marks modulate CTD condensate formation and topology 3/n
