Congratulations Zhi Li - 李志 🥳🥳🥳 Zhi's last chapter from his PhD at CCRC got published in Nature Communications showing that ocean warming has accelerated dramatically in the last decades. The observed ocean heat uptake nearly doubled during 2010–2020 relative to 1990–2000.

Our paper shows that the ocean warming rate has been increasing in recent decades, and hotspots reveal which areas are absorbing the most heat. These hotspots, in the subtropical oceans and the Southern Ocean, are mostly the 'subduction' sites. What is the mechanism behind it?
