We appreciate USDA’s blueprint for tackling avian influenza. America’s farmers are committed to ensuring a safe and abundant food supply, and these investments to advance biosecurity and research will further equip them to combat the threat of HPAI.

We appreciate President Trump delaying tariffs previously to allow for more negotiations. As the new tariff deadline approaches, we ask that the president continue to look for ways to avoid imposing tariffs—further driving up supply costs and reducing access to markets.

Farmers support the goals of ensuring security and fair trade with other nations, but additional tariffs, along with expected retaliatory tariffs, will take a toll on rural America.
