Kudos to Fiona Tamburini, Dylan Maghini and team for this exemplary work that not only advances our knowledge of the gut microbiome but importantly does so in a thoughtful, inclusive and empowering manner. #InclusiveScience #CommunityEngagedResearch #HumanMicrobiome #Nanopore

SARS-CoV-2 likely infects the GI tract and can persist up to even 7 months after infection. This could explain Long COVID, and has relevance to personal immunization plans and wastewater-based epidemiology. #COVID #SARSCoV2 #wastewater Stanford Medicine Med by Cell Press

Highly recommend this discussion today featuring Ali and Marlene K Wolfe discussing how wastewater can tell us about the health of our community - events.stanford.edu/event/wastewat…

Check out this opportunity to be a lab manager at the Bhatt lab at Stanford. I've been a postdoc here for 4 years and can't recommend this group enough. Thoughtful & inclusive peers, PI that centers on trainee development & fun science, and the Bay Area. careersearch.stanford.edu/jobs/lab-manag…

Check out this new preprint that identifies bacterial hosts of prototypical crAssphage and reveals their interesting plasmid based existence! Also DanicaSchmidtke and Angela are incredibly talented phage Jedis aka phaJedis!!

Blown away by Joe Bondy-Denomy ‘s work on the ‘Phage that wants to be a eukaryote’. Love the paradigm changing idea of prokaryotic nuclei. Along with other work on cytoplasmic compartments in bacteria, it’s clear that prokaryotes are not just a bag of biomolecules.
