#DIPG. The deadliest cancer of all, robbing innocent children of their dreams. But real change is happening because of ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation and every person deciding to commit to the cause of doing better by our children, because they deserve better.

Congrats to Michelle Monje🎗️ 🟦 for receiving this year's Chad Carr Spirit Award. 2 decades of taking care of children with DIPG in the clinic and advancing our understanding of this monstrous disease through research. Trailblazer, thought leader, and the most deserving recipient.

Outstanding program and congratulations to our own MCP graduate students Gabbi Rozumek Joanna Lum and Koral Campbell on being excellent mentors and instructors!

An absolutely honor to hear from the brilliant Humsa Venkatesh about her pioneering efforts in the field of cancer neuroscience at the 23rd annual Michigan Pathology Research Symposium. Thank you for coming to Ann Arbor and for sharing your insights as a young rockstar investigator!

This afternoon, FOUR of our very own undergrad and grad students from the Vennetilab presented at the 23rd Michigan Pathology symposium! Way to represent the lab and for sharing exciting research progress in the field of pediatric brain cancers!

Honored to be the recipient for this year's Best Oral Presentation Award at the Michigan Pathology Research Symposium. All credit goes to ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation for funding this work and my wonderful lab for helping to refine this talk. Incredibly excited to attend my third ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation Research Workshop co-hosted by CCPBTC at Michigan Medicine. Looking forward to engaging in thought-provoking conversations and learning from this collaborative network of researchers to accelerate progress and a cure for #DIPG #DMG

Dr. Sriram Venneti from Vennetilab Michigan Pathology sharing updates from the perspective of Cancer Metabolism, sharing insights on metabolic reprogramming that is mutation-driven and microenvironment-influenced, urging the integration of metabolic measurements into clinical trials.

@CarlKoschmannc from Koschmann Lab sharing exciting work on culturing patient-derived tumor-oids from resection/ autopsy, the advantages of using a model with preserved microenvironmental composition, and utilizing them for drug screens and precision medicine for #dipg #DMG

Absolutely awe-inspiring getting to hear from Michelle Monje🎗️ 🟦 from Stanford Medicine using fascinating optogenetic techniques and advanced imaging tools to study the role of neuronal activities in regulating tumor growth in #dipg #DMG

Dr. I-Mei Siu from Cancer Discovery sharing Cancer Discovery's mission in featuring major advances in cancer research and clinical advances. Beyond publishing manuscripts, AACR Foundation also supports patient and policy advocacy in the fight against cancer.

Daniela Ciccolini from My DIPG navigator ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation sharing the important work by dedicated nurses and social worker to help families understand and manage care for their children in the midst of a #dipg #dmg diagnosis. mydipgnavigator.org

Dr. Suzanne Baker from St. Jude discussing the unparalleled role that foundations like ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation in driving transformative research, cell-intrinsic and regional effects during development and in #dmg #dipg tumorigenesis, and promising antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) therapies.

Last night at the ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation gala, I was reminded why this work matters. Because of the generosity of families and partners, I get to dedicate my thesis to studying #DIPG - 1 of the most devastating childhood cancers. Seeing our community stand tgt was powerful and humbling.
