As of today, North Carolina is the only state in the country without a budget. The General Assembly needs to come back to Raleigh next week to fully fund Medicaid and then pass a budget that meaningfully invests in our people and our state.

North Carolinians need stability – to put food on the table, receive a paycheck, or travel home for the holidays – and I am pleased the government is back open. There was no reason to force 43 days of chaos, cruelty, and uncertainty just to avoid keeping health care affordable.
