COMMEMORATE BLACK AUGUST Black August began in California prisons as incarcerated people commemorated the death of their fallen comrades. They fasted, studied and committed to the work of revolution. Black August offers us a chance to (re)commit to Love, Study, and Struggle.

📢 JUNETEENTH in DC📢 On Monday, June 19th, ONE DC will be hosting a Juneteenth Community Festival to commemorate & learn about Juneteenth. There will be live performances, vendors & pop-up shops, food & drinks, face painting & ice cream (free for the first 50 to arrive) for kids

On Juneteenth, we honor Black freedom & resistance. We look to long legacies of Black people in the US building community-self determination through cooperative economics. The struggle continues. We have much more history to learn, realities to struggle with, & futures to build!

Join ONE DC and Mothers Outreach Network this coming Monday at 5:30 as we learn about the Guaranteed Income Coalition and how they support the basic needs of Black men while advancing reparations for all our people.

This year, ONE DC is partnering with Serve Your City/Ward 6 Mutual Aid Pan-African Community Action (PACA) and Claudia Jones School for Political Education to commemorate Emancipation Day with a community learning event led by historian Bill Fletcher Jr. We will be learning about the Palestinian struggle and its connection to Black struggle in the US
