Very excited to be presenting at #ESMO2022 in Paris this afternoon ! Melanoma Institute Australia

Well done Rebecca Simpson from Melanoma Institute Australia Charles Perkins Centre presented at #ESMO22 #melanoma - longitudinal circulating immune subsets from #neoadjuvant #immunotherapy showing reduced Treg and increased Cd8 T memory in path responders. Now we are linking to #microbiome.

Today in Nature Medicine - interplay between #diet and #microbiome and how it relates to cancer immunotherapy outcomes in cohorts from Australia, Netherlands, and the US. Great work by Rebecca Simpson, Professor Georgina Long AO (Bluesky @gvlongphdmd) Jennifer Wargo MD Christian Blank & many more nature.com/articles/s4159…

In a ground-breaking study, researchers at Melanoma Institute Aus & Uni of Sydney have proven a link between a patient’s diet, their gut #microbiome & likelihood of response to immunotherapy. #RebeccaSimpson Professor Georgina Long AO (Bluesky @gvlongphdmd) Sydney Health Nature Medicine > bit.ly/diet-driven-mi…

Excited to be co-chairing the panel discussion with Ruth Allen at the CRN postgraduate research symposium on the 17th November!!

Excited to be attending my first AACR. Presenting our study on longitudinal microbiome-immune dynamics tomorrow afternoon! #AACR23 Melanoma Institute Australia

Great demonstration of importance of balancing immune activation & regulation in facilitating anti-tumor immune resp while avoiding irAEs from Rebecca Simpson at #AACR23. Discover more from Melanoma Institute Australia in #JITC, including this study from Conway et al: bit.ly/3zZh0Oj

Thank you to Cancer Institute NSW for the award, very honoured and grateful to be selected! Amazing way to celebrate my PhD submission! & thanks to Melanoma Institute Australia particularly Professor Georgina Long AO (Bluesky @gvlongphdmd) & @ProfRScolyerMIA for the incredible opportunities and unwavering support throughout my PhD!

Proud day for MIA translational research team, led by Professor Georgina Long AO (Bluesky @gvlongphdmd) & @ProfRScolyerMIA at University of Sydney graduation of PhD students, now Dr Jordan Conway & Dr Rebecca Simpson. Both making their mark on melanoma research & science, helping move closer to our goal of zero deaths from

World #microbiome day! The microbiome has a role in medicine & #cancer - how much is uncertain. See our research in #melanoma Melanoma Institute Australia & that of others here biomedcentral.com/p/wmd-2024

Ultimately, we did not see the anticipated changes in Bifidobacterial species. However, we did see some enrichment in Ruminococcaceae species - based on studies by Rebecca Simpson @ProfRScolyerMIA Professor Georgina Long AO (Bluesky @gvlongphdmd) Jennifer Wargo MD & others, it's possible that this could aid in facilitating

Congratulations to 8 Sydney Health researchers who have received Cancer Institute NSW Fellowships 👏 The fellowships support early & mid-career researchers to develop their leadership & research skills and innovative approaches to research that will deliver meaningful outcomes for patients.
