Khalid Al-Kofahi ’94 (computer engineering), senior VP at Fidelity, joined fellow alumni at the Imagine RIT Futurists Symposium on April 24 to share how AI is reshaping every industry—and why no career will be untouched.

Chibuikem Iheonu, a Ph.D. student in mechanical and industrial engineering, won first place for his 12-minute oral research presentation at RIT's Graduate Showcase in April. He received the award and a $200 prize from Associate Provost and Graduate School Dean Diane Slusarski.

RIT’s Multidisciplinary Robotics Club hosted the PacBot Robotics Competition on April 19 in the SHED. RIT’s team took first place, competing against teams from Princeton University, Columbia University, and the University of Toronto University of Toronto—with President Munson and Provost David joining the fun.

RIT researchers are exploring new depths at the Tait Preserve. Led by Dr. Mohammad Javad Khojasteh and electrical engineering student Adam D. Knawby, the team is developing AI-powered SLAM tech using the BlueROV2 to map underwater environments without GPS or surface contact.

The RIT Racing team, consisting of 55 students, made history at FSAE Michigan 2025 by finishing 8th out of 86 teams, with podium finishes in Acceleration (2nd), Skidpad (3rd), and Business Presentation (1st), marking their third straight Top 10 EV finish.
