I wish people understood brain fog is more than just feeling a little groggy. How would you explain your brain fog to others to get them to understand how hard it is to deal with?

This is so true! I had never encountered so many comments on my (Brummie) accent as I did when moving to academia full time. Felt absolutely bizarre for it to be made a "thing". But it was. And now I find myself speaking with an even stronger accent - but only on campus! 😂 😂

UK 2024: Men talking about a Black woman who’s been gravely wronged in her silenced presence because another man did not allow her to speak. And another man deciding that the person who wronged her should be forgiven, also without asking her. We’ve such a long way to go.

Looking forward to reading the full paper particularly in relation to post the first lockdown. Orgs creativity and innovation in adapting services quickly in the pandemic certainly chimes with my own PhD findings exploring how CSE safeguarding took place in the first lockdown👇

This is such sad news. I genuinely don't know what else to say. An immense loss to children & young people, & the sector itself. Never has there been a time when the voices of children & young people need to be amplified & heard & their experiences shared more than currently 💔

In my 15 years of studying neuroscience, I've learned something about recovering from the neurological effects of COVID-19. Recovery often means forming new neural connections, rather than simply restoring the old ones. This can change the way you think and perceive the world,

Things I wish others knew about my illness. Just because I’m smiling doesn’t mean I’m not in pain. If I cancel plans it’s not because I don’t want to go, it’s because I physically can’t function. My appearance has nothing to do with how I feel. Just because I try to stay

Amazing to see our Supporting #LongCovid Care tool covered in ⁦PulseToday⁩ I hope my colleagues in primary care find it helpful to give an insight into the complexity, barriers & stigma people who potentially have LC face. Long-covid-care.org.uk pulsetoday.co.uk/news/clinical-…

She got found fit for work, my mum. Dragged herself there 2 days a week. Slept the rest. Dead within the year. She became one of the statistics. Her name was Mary Davies. And my god did we try. #sicknote #dwp #benefits #sickpay

We're now into day 37 of the West Midlands Mayor Election Count. Candidates are arguing about the introduction of VAR. The Green candidate has given up veganism & resorted to cannibalism & a reporter from Midlands Today has offered to fight a chair. It's all gone a bit wrong.

Politics can be noisy, tumultuous, and cruel, and there are people who take advantage of that to suit their own hunger for power. There is always a cost. This time, an innocent woman, and every person who saw that video and felt the sting of that slur.

The legacy of this parliament is writ large in the names of over 230,000 people who died of Covid 19. All political parties must commit to learning from the Covid Inquiry, and preventing the last Government’s mistakes from being repeated ever again.

Me everyday with a chronic illness: I don't feel well. Is it my chronic illness? Is it a cold? Is it the weather? Is it because I'm stressed? Is it because I did to much yesterday? Is it because I slept bad? Is it a new illness? Is it a flare? Do I need electrolytes?
