Researching and writing this book was a long sojourn for truth. Its stories of violence and repression but also of resistance, courage and hope are meant as a small contribution to the social history of rural India.

My theory: burnout has nothing to do with how many hours or how hard you work. It's caused by working for people you don't like, towards goals you don't believe in, in systems that grant you no agency.
