Johnson saying people who can’t work from home - naming construction or manufacturing, two low-paid professions - should be encouraged to go to work. The people in the lowest paid jobs with the poorest rights are going to be forced to put themselves at risk.

Those who “need to go back to work” will be overwhelmingly those in low paid & insecure work. Which incidentally is over-represented by women & ethnic minority grps. BME groups are disproportionately more at risk of mortality with #COVID19. Do some lives matter more than others?

An important moment in The Lancet’s history: acknowledging our colonial origins and committing to decolonisation, intersectionality, reparative justice, and active anti-racism. theguardian.com/science/2022/d…
