Francesca Albanese's Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur oPt greatest hobby: shredding stupid Western journalists to pieces.

The next presenter is Rhys Grinter Bio21 Institute showcasing his research on "Inhibiting bacteria heme-piracy using de novo designed proteins" š Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences WEHI (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute) Molecular Horizons @ UOW Australian Research Council

Was nice to get some nice feedback on my work, the poster prize was a bonus! Thanks for organising a nice conference ARC CCeMMP ! š¬š¦ Thanks also to my supervisor Rhys Grinter for all his support!! Stay tuned for the preprint soon š

Thrilled to contribute to this exciting project led by Daniel Fox. Congratulations team! We used de novo protein design to block heme piracy in E. coli.

We are excited to share pre-prints describing a successful foray into ML-driven protein design. With Rhys Grinter we designed proteins to potently inhibit CRISPR-Cas13 (doi.org/10.1101/2024.1ā¦) or block heme piracy by pathogenic E. coli (doi.org/10.1101/2024.1ā¦):

Thrilled to see our work on high-resolution #cryoem using a common LaB6Ā 120-keV TEM and subā200-keV direct electron detector, now onlineĀ Science Advances.Ā science.org/doi/10.1126/sc⦠. A collaboration with Gatan Microscopy, @GeorgRamm, and Ramaciotti Centre for Cryo EM.

Thank you again to all the wonderful collaborators for their amazing samples and discussions. @JesseMobbs, Cyntia Taveneau, Daniel Fox, Ziva Vuckovic, Rhys Grinter, Gavin Knott and @Thal_DM.

First Ramaciotti Centre paper of 2025 by our own Hari Venugopal in Science Advances. Check out how to get high resolution #cryoEM on a Microscopy & Spectroscopy 120keV LaB6 Tecnai with a Gatan Microscopy Alpine camera.
