Countless artists—usually filmmakers, occasionally novelists—have been suggested as David Lynch’s spiritual successor. I think it’s Open Mike Eagle. I wrote about the best album he’s made to date: pitchfork.com/reviews/albums…

90k first week sales for Clipse? Huge W. Their biggest first week since Lord Willin' in 2002. The press takeover worked -- media STILL matters in 2025, don't let anyone tell you different.

Hulk Hogan embodied the grandiosity, excess & dark side of the American dream. He transformed himself from a small-town Southern boy into a national hero into a disgraced heel. A steroidal manifestation of the country's trajectory, writ extra large. No Holds Barred ruled though.

I just dropped a DJ Blend mixtape, dedicated to my favorite artists of 1989, and it's almost entirely; album cuts, b-sides, rare demos, etc.... Definitely not the obvious: soundcloud.com/redefinehiphop…
