It's official! The United Nations's Commission on the Status of Women #CSW69 just UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED its Political Declaration, committing the international community to step up action on protecting women and girls' rights. 👏

I congratulate Member States on the adoption of the Political Declaration at #CSW69 reaffirming their commitment to the rights, equality & empowerment of ALL women & girls. With hard won progress on gender equality at risk, promises made in Beijing 30 years ago must be fulfilled.

In 1995, the world made historic commitments with the Beijing Declaration. 30 years later at #CSW69, we’re asking: how far have we come and how much further must we go? Gender equality can't wait 30 more years, it's time to turn vision into reality for ALL women & girls.

Last week, I was invited by the United Nations to speak on the intersection of adolescent girls’ health equity and leadership in conflict and crisis settings on the panel alongside H.E. Bob Rae (President ECOSOC & Canadian Amb.), & young leaders - Gwendolyn, Anes, and Kinga United Nations HQ in NY
