Our CogCompNeuro GAC paper is out! We focus on two main questions: 1⃣ How should we use neuroscientific data in model development (raw experimental data vs. qualitative insights)? 2⃣ How should we collect experimental data for model development (model-free vs. model-based)?

Ok, well, I've just released a Kickstarter project for the book concept I've been working on in the last year. It's a journalist's take on what's been happening in AI, from a neuroscience perspective. It has 30 days to raise $77,800 in book preorders. kickstarter.com/projects/45417…

Excited to see this paper, led by powerhouse Colin Conwell, finally out! In this work, we wanted to understand the puzzling relationship between seeing & feeling: pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

We investigate how the brain processes diverse languages using an LLM-brain encoding framework (led by Andrea de Varda)! Encoding models fitted on brain responses in one language transfer to a new, unseen language--demonstrating a shared representational space across languages.

There's never been a more exciting time to explore the science of intelligence! 🧠 What can ideas and approaches from science tell us about how AI works? What might superhuman AI reveal about human cognition? Join us for an internship at Harvard to explore together! 1/

In the physical world, almost all information is transmitted through traveling waves -- why should it be any different in your neural network? Super excited to share recent work with the brilliant Mozes Jacobs: "Traveling Waves Integrate Spatial Information Through Time" 1/14

I think this method is quite important for interpretability research, and for understanding learned representations. Hats off to Thomas Fel and team!

What are the organizing dimensions of language processing? We show that voxel responses are organized along 2 main axes: processing difficulty & meaning abstractness—revealing an interpretable, topographic representational basis for language processing shared across individuals.
