I’ll be at NeurIPS Conference this year, sharing some work on explainability and representations. If you’re attending and want to chat, feel free to reach out !👋

I defended my PhD at MIT Brain and Cognitive Sciences last week--so much gratitude to my advisor Ev (like in 'evidence', not Eve) Fedorenko 🇺🇦, as well as my committee Nancy Kanwisher @[email protected] Josh McDermott Yoon Kim. Thank you to all my brilliant collaborators and the MIT community McGovern Institute. I have loved this journey so much.

Our CogCompNeuro GAC paper is out! We focus on two main questions: 1⃣ How should we use neuroscientific data in model development (raw experimental data vs. qualitative insights)? 2⃣ How should we collect experimental data for model development (model-free vs. model-based)?

We investigate how the brain processes diverse languages using an LLM-brain encoding framework (led by Andrea de Varda)! Encoding models fitted on brain responses in one language transfer to a new, unseen language--demonstrating a shared representational space across languages.

In the physical world, almost all information is transmitted through traveling waves -- why should it be any different in your neural network? Super excited to share recent work with the brilliant Mozes Jacobs: "Traveling Waves Integrate Spatial Information Through Time" 1/14

New preprint! Excited to share our latest work “Accelerated learning of a noninvasive human brain-computer interface via manifold geometry” ft. outstanding former UG Chandra Fincke, Guillaume Lajoie , @krishnaswamylab, & @wutsaiyale's Nick Turk-Browne 1/8 doi.org/10.1101/2025.0…

New paper!🧠**The cerebellar components of the human language network** with: Hannah Small Moshe Poliak Greta Tuckute Ben Lipkin agata wolna Anila D'Mello and Ev (like in 'evidence', not Eve) Fedorenko 🇺🇦 biorxiv.org/content/10.110… 1/n 🧵

The Kempner Institute congratulates its research fellows Isabel Papadimitriou (Isabel Papadimitriou) and Jenn Hu (Jennifer Hu) for their faculty appointments (UBC Linguistics & JHU Cognitive Science) and celebrates their innovative research. Read more here: bit.ly/448heBy #AI #LLMs
