This is for the MS/MS geeks: my candid update on the use of EAD for lipid analysis. The key lessons hold also for non-lipid species and metabolites. Some will appreciate it, some less ;-) metabolomics.blog/2024/04/ead-an…

This is a fantastic double contribution: the library that provides MSn data for a ton of new compounds and the seamless processing embedded in MZmine. 👏👍🤟

My talk on using the #ZenoTOF and #EAD for lipids is finally online. It was recorded last year during #ASMS by SCIEX. sciex.com/applications/b… I bringt it up because, since then, we made great progress on the automated and unbiased annotation of lipids. You can read about

Our big story on the importance of "stripy" T cells in antigen response, which started as a MSc Thesis 6 years ago, has finally made its way out in Science Magazine! 🤩 Massive congrats to Ben Hale & thanks to all collaborators particularly Oxenius Lab & Blutspende SRK Schweiz 🥰

My lab is searching for a postdoc in microbiology/microbial metabolomics! Are you a biologist who is secretly realizing you might be a mass spec nerd? If so, I can relate and I'd love to work with you! Please check out more details here: jobso.id/j6x1

Does in-source fragmentation (ISF) account for most of the peaks in metabolomics? Our data tells a different story. Get the full breakdown and join the conversation at metabolomics.blog/2024/10/isf/ Kudos to Adriano Rutz for the detailed analysis! #Metabolomics #LCMS #LCMSMS

A study using an n=1 experiment with single standards at 0V CID reported that 70% of detected ions were in-source fragments (ISFs). nature.com/articles/s42... This was extrapolated to suggest that ISFs affect all experiments to this degree. A counterpoint. rdcu.be/ebFwc

This paper represents a great effort by Roman Bushuiev and his brother Anton Bushuiev. The DreaMS foundation ML model for mass spectra of small molecules now opens lots of avenues for possible downstream applications. It might be a game changer for computational metabolomics.
