Yesterday we were honoured to be invited by Anne Crilly to remember Cecily Jackson on what was 300 years since she was burned to death in a shocking act of misogyny & violence against women. We support the request for a marker or plaque to be put in place to memorialise Cecily.

We had a wonderful evening at the Culture Date with Dublin 8 "Liberation at the Back Lane Parliament" event. Caelainn Hogan generously asked us to provide some collages documenting the history of Alliance for Choice Derry and our Maeve helped put together 12 panels of images!

This week we attended an APPG for SRH in Westminster to show gratitude to the doctors providing abortion care in the north and to implore MP's to support aid into Gaza and to stop Israel's genocide. Initially refused entry-we made our voices heard. More: allianceforchoiceni.org/activism/atten…

NI had decrim & a right to abortion when I need an abortion in 22. Services were stalled & weaponised & left me vulnerable. Voting for stellacreasy NC20 is only way to protect women in E&W from suffering what happened to me. Claire Hanna Colum Eastwood Sorcha Eastwood MP

Credit where credit is due, we would like to thank Claire Hanna and Colum Eastwood for voting to support the decriminalisation of abortion for people who can get pregnant in England and Wales. We are always available to chat about changing The SDLP party stance on this issue!

We had been under the impression that Sorcha Eastwood MP had also voted in support of NC1 but she did not attend the vote in Westminster last night. We are also hearing Sorcha removed her name from support of NC1 before the vote. Alliance Party can you please clarify?

Listening to old man Alban Maginness on BBC Radio Ulster trying every trick in the book to evade saying that he wants to punish and lock women up for having an abortion. Decriminalisation really reveals the misogyny!!!

Criminalisation means that the police investigate your private life, your medical history and you are liable to go to prison. Alban Maginness whipping up moral panic live on BBC Radio Ulster.

A shot across the bow for The SDLP SDLPYouth members from Alban Maginness who says they don't "value life" - this is why the SDLP must be brave and change their party stance to a pro-choice pro-decrim position.

Last night we left flowers and candles in a vigil for Sarah Montgomery on the Guildhall steps. There have been 27 recorded femicides in NI since 2020. The most dangerous place for women is in the home and the most dangerous predator of women are white men, not migrants.
