Der Zusammenhaltsbericht des Forschungsinstitut Gesellschaftlicher Zusammenhalt hat für viel Aufsehen gesorgt vor allem mit der Behauptung besonders Grünen Wähler (62% dieser) hätten politisch homogene Netzwerke. Gegeben der Daten im Bericht scheint mir dies eine enorm problematische Behauptung. Ein #Thread

The #EP24 elections in Germany saw 28% of young voters (16-24) choose "other", i.e. small parties not represented in the Bundestag. Especially CDU/CSU and SPD did terribly. Matches prior d|part Think Tank research: young people are often interested but feel ignored by established parties.

This is a fun item, b/c "pure protest drives the far right vote" is a zombie idea that keeps coming back. Still, 2/3 of non-AfD respondents believe in pure protest, whereas 7/10 #AfD voters say they are motivated by ideology/policy #ep2024 #Germany

Some random learnings from #epsa2024: 1. Beamer still more popular than Reveal JS/HTML slides 2. The coefficient plot has replaced the regression table 3. Remarkable is the new iPad 4. You can embed animations in Beamer/PDF slides 5. There used to be more food at the reception 🙃
