The AAIU has published a Final Report of a fatal accident involving a Robinson R44 helicopter (N999RL) at Kennycourt, Co. Kildare on 11 December 2022. The Investigation determined that the probable cause was a loss of control due to spatial disorientation. bit.ly/4cRLGSt

The AAIU has published a Report of a serious incident involving a TECNAM P2006T aircraft that departed Weston Airport on 22 August 2023 with a tow bar attached. The aircraft returned and landed with the tow bar still attached, causing minor aircraft damage.bit.ly/3zMZzEo

The AAIU has published a report of an accident involving an Unmanned Aircraft (Drone) at Balbriggan, Co. Dublin on 14 July 2022. A propeller blade separated inflight and then struck an individual on the ground, due to a fatigue fracture of a securing bolt. bit.ly/3CkmLKU

The UK AAIB has published a Final Report into a serious incident where an Irish-registered Boeing 737-8200 (EI-HET) performed a go-around which was followed by a level bust near London Stansted Airport on 4 December 2023. bit.ly/4fUUvwY

On 9 April 2023, a Boeing 737-8AS aircraft tracked towards the left edge of the runway while landing at Dublin Airport. Use of the tiller to steer at higher speeds caused damage to the nosewheel assembly and airframe. The Final Report is now published; bit.ly/4f78Sxz

The AAIU has now completed all on-site activities at Mansfieldstown Co. Louth and the aircraft wreckage has been recovered to the AAIU Examination Facility for further analysis. A report will be published in due course.
