In a landmark step towards restoring traditional water management systems and strengthening rural resilience Aaranyak, with support from LIC Housing Finance Limited (CSR initiative), has successfully rejuvenated 2 vital community-managed irrigation canals #Dong in Udalguri district of Assam.

A successful week of hands-on learning on Open Source GIS has wrapped up at ASSAM FOREST SCHOOL where forest officials from the different forest divisions dove deep into the world of GIS. Held by Assam Forest School, the sessions were conducted by the GIS Specialist from Aaranyak. #Assam




Around 75 forest personnel deployed in Pobitora WLS in Assam, their family members and a few local villagers participated in a health camp held by Aaranyak in collaboration with the Pobitora WLS authority, #SHIPA (a local NGO) and Arya Hospital with support from #ZooBerlin.



Aaranyak’s senior scientist Dr M Firoz Ahmed M Firoz Ahmed attended the #ICCB2025 held in Australia during 15-19 June. Dr Ahmed Presented on community participation and recovery of Manas National Park through community engagement and multifaceted approaches.


Aaranyak with support from SBI Foundation conducted 2 well-participated school outreach events meant for raising awareness on human-elephant conflict (HEC) mitigation and promotion of coexistence. Over 205 students took part in both of the events. #Coexistence #Assam



An event of our flagship 'Rhino Goes to School' campaign was conducted at Panbari Tribal LP School in Bokakhat, Assam recently. The event supported by David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation featured demonstrations on rhinos, reinforcing the conservation message and capturing imagination of the students.




Aaranyak with support from SBI Foundation held a capacity building programme for Elephant Conservation Network #ECN members at Bongurum, Udalguri dist. of Assam, with 17 ECN members to boost community-led efforts in mitigating human-elephant conflict and promoting coexistence.

Around 35 SSB officials of various BOPs attended a session on “Wildlife Crime and Illegal Wildlife Trade” by Aaranyak’s Binita Baruwati during a workshop on “Border Interaction Team,” organised by the 64 Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal Sashastra Seema Bal at the BOP in Darranga.
