Prof. Gil Zussman starts serving today as the Columbia Engineering Electrical Engineering Department Chair. He replaces Prof. John Kymissis who served as the Chair since 2020. We are grateful to Prof. Kymissis for his service and welcome Prof. Zussman to his new role.

Satellite and ground comms are interfering with radio telescopes and radiometers vital for space and weather research. At an U.S. National Science Foundation NRDZ workshop, we discussed technology and policy solutions and toured the Green Bank Telescope. Thanks Green Bank Observatory, SpectrumXCenter, National Radio Astronomy Observatory | NRAO!

Congratulations to Manav Kohli, PhD student Columbia | EE & in my group, for successfully defending his dissertation “Experimental Studies into Next-Gen Wireless Technologies: #FullDuplex and #mmWave”! Thanks to the committee and collaborators Bell Labs & Harish Krishnaswamy group

Research results obtained using the #PAWRCOSMOS mobile mmWave arrays (developed with IBM Research) were presented in a paper, demos & poster at ACM SIGMOBILE MobiCom’24 by groups from Duke Engineering Princeton Computer Science Rutgers Engineering City College of NY & Columbia | EE
