It’s decided: this year’s SRA 2021 Annual Meeting will be virtual! We encourage everyone to participate to make this experience as educational and positive as possible. They do say it takes a village, and our community within SRA is surely capable. #SRA2021

18) let this sink in— if Singapore can’t hold back community outbreak, then is it really safe to lift mask rules and allow indoor dining? Singapore is a bell weather for the world.

The whole discussion about RECOVERY and RCT results reminds me that sometime ago Ferric Fang and I had great fun writing about diseases of scientists. In approaching RCT data one must avoid borderline probability disorder. For a full list of maladies see: asmscience.org/content/journa…

Andrew Whelton 🔥💧❄️🌪 CDC is not a regulatory agency and several steps are being missed between establishing scientific consensus and going from guidance to local policies. Uh..implementation, enforcement, etc?...oh, that’s right ... this is not even scientific consensus!

CDC is trying to provide clarity.... after the message was already internalized by millions upon millions of millions of people and businesses. CDC needs to apologize and never let something that bad happen again. This isn’t a typical mistake. amp.cnn.com/cnn/2021/05/17…

The safety data required by the FDA for vaccines blows my mind as an environmental health scientist. If the same rigor of safety data were required for chemicals we put into our environment (and water) Americans would be healthier. The Toxic Substance Control Act needs reform.

Maybe 2021 is the year we finally dispense with the idea that collective problems can be solved via individual responsibility

If you purchased or are using a hydroxyl radical generator for COVID (FYI I do not recommend) you may want to read this paper...Formation of Oxidized Gases and Secondary Organic Aerosol from a Commercial Oxidant-Generating Electronic Air Cleaner pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

Last year we didn't get 1 notice of #COVID being in classrooms at multiple schools. This year, in the first 2 weeks there are 3 confirmed cases in 2 schools. Several employees had COVID through their families at home. This year will clearly be different than last year.
