Primed & portable in-hospital VA #ECMO system allowing for faster initiation of ECLS in various hospital locations to decrease time to #MCS in cardiogenic shock. After development of program, extended treatment eligibility to wider array of pts! #FOAMcc 📎 bit.ly/3gjqWMk

Introducing primed/portable in-hospital VA #ECMO system ⬆️ pts placed on #MCS outside OR, including in ED (eg OHCA) + modified cannulation strategy ⬆️ VA ECMO cases/year ➡️ equivalent survival in sicker pts, ↔️morbidity MDPI #FOAMcc #FOAMecmo 📎 bit.ly/3gjqWMk

When bad science is given a microphone (looking at you Reed Abelson) misconception and mischaracterization become the byproduct. Grateful to the national EM organizations for their thoughtful and well-constructed response. saem.org/docs/default-s…

Prof Kiran Shekar A trial should be done once a system knows how to deploy a complex therapy. These trials are easier to do for pharmaceuticals or single point interventions but ecpr is a system of care and has to be established and exist first before it can be tested . My opinion of course
