This week the Marine Ecology Lab UFRN | Brazil team was all over @ICRS_2021 and they had a blast!🤓 For most students, it was the #firsttime presenting and communicating in English, and they did GREAT! 👏 #Science is #diverse and language is often a barrier! Proud of this team! Check it out 👇🧵

Registration fees were about 1month stipend for a 🇧🇷PhD student😲 #Science has different contexts and fees are often prohibitive🚫 We NEED to fix that!👊Thanks to Pós Graduação em Ecologia - UFRN and Instituto Serrapilheira this team took #brazilianscience and #reefs to the world!🤓👇x.com/MarineEcoBR/st…

🔔This week's #Reefbite blog post is out!!👀 To #communicate about the #Ocean! Written by Ana Carolina Grillo Edited by Casandra Wilson Blog link: bit.ly/2VrPCaW #OceanDecade #keep #Oceanliteracy #alive

Christmassy reef science mode on! 🤓 🌊 🤿 PhD experiments can’t stop! Marine Ecology Lab UFRN | Brazil Pós Graduação em Ecologia - UFRN

We are off to a great start of the annual seminars Pós Graduação em Ecologia - UFRN with Georgia Tech Prof. Mark Hay giving the opening talk! 🤓 Inspiring work for young scientists, showing that cutting edge science can be done with good questions, cable ties and hours underwater🤿🌊💪

Setting up a new #PhD marine experiment with different #corals from the #IndoPacific 🌊 Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) 🧐How could #benthiccompetition be affected by #nutrientpollution and #acidification? 🤿 thanks to DAAD News CAPES Marine Ecology Lab UFRN | Brazil Pós Graduação em Ecologia - UFRN

Three intense months learning tons during my #PhD at the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) have passed! 🌊 30 days running an #acidification and #nutrient experiment 👩🏽🔬 in 21 aquariums 💦 with 252 hard and soft corals! 🪸😅 DAAD News CAPES Marine Ecology Lab UFRN | Brazil Pós Graduação em Ecologia - UFRN 📸 Guilherme O. My first PhD chapter officially out! Investigating🕵️♀️ competitive 🤼♀️ interactions with corals 🪸in 🇧🇷Marine Ecology Lab UFRN | Brazil Pós Graduação em Ecologia - UFRN They get harmed when touched 🤲🏽 by macroalgae and zoanthids and might not recover 🤕 🌊

Just watched the replay class by Mushtaq Bilal, PhD hosted by Ana Pineda, PhD on how to use AI as a personal research assistant! Great tips that make a lot of sense 👩🏽💻 📖 🧬

Glad to have experienced a bit of #WesternAustralia 🌊 and learned about its giant and remote coastline and reefs at Aust Coral Reef Soc and Western Australian Museum - and sharing my research from Marine Ecology Lab UFRN | Brazil Projeto Coral Vivo👩🏽🔬 Still lots to be unraveled in this surprising area of the #IndianOcean! 🪸

Let’s get the science on taps started with some marine talks! 🐙 🌊 🪸 Pint of Science AU

Colorful 🟡🟣 and wavy 〰️ polyps 🌊 but how can these soft corals affect their hard corals neighbors? Currently spotting some corals’ battles in Aussie reefs 🥊 🪸 Orpheus Island Research Station - JCU Marine Ecology Lab UFRN | Brazil

Time to check coral battles in detail! 🔍 🥊 Is Acropora 🪸crushing Clavularia 🪶or the other way round? Or maybe they’re trying to find peace 🏳️? Let’s see what happens while I’m experimenting at Orpheus Island Research Station - JCU 🌊

Kicking off AMSA-NSMSS 2024 Conference 🇦🇺 and spreading the word of ecological interactions 🪸 and experimenting 🔬 with competing corals 🥊 in one of my PhD researches done at Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT)
