In their new Health Affairs paper, Adam Vohra +coauthors of Weill Cornell Medicine Population Health Sciences evaluate the prevalence of intensive care unit load imbalance & the characteristics of hospitals most likely to be over capacity while other nearby hospitals were under capacity. bit.ly/44cyd4u

Important new study from Adam Vohra and colleagues finds that "load imbalance" — i.e. ICU's in some hospitals being overloaded even when nearby hospitals had available ICU capacity — was common during the COVID-19 pandemic. Previous literature/reporting highlighted...

Our work with William Schpero, Dhruv Khullar, and Rainu Kaushal highlighted by Weill Cornell Medicine. Full text of paper here: healthaffairs.org/doi/full/10.13…

Proud of my wife Noura Choudhury, MD! It really requires super human powers to do day care drop off AND pickups most days of the week while being a superstar in thoracic oncology!

Thanks for highlighting our work in JAMA Network Open. Despite significant advances in treatment, we showed that there has been minimal improvement in mortality for heart failure. There remains significant room to improve the longitudinal care of these patients.

Please join me in congratulating our incoming 2025-26 UChicago Medicine #InterventionalCardiology fellows: Chris Fernandez & Kunjan Udani. Welcome to the #UChicagoCathLab! We’re thrilled to have you guys join us! Please arrive adequately caffeinated ;)

Great work by Jake Doll and team showing the reliability and feasibility of intravascular imaging as a performance measure. Dmitriy N. Feldman, MD and I share our thoughts in CircInterventions on the positives / negatives of using IVI as a metric. Link: ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/CI…

Congrats to our former Weill Cornell Medicine NewYork-Presbyterian IC fellow and UChicagoCardio superstar Adam Vohra with great editorial CircInterventions on imaging as performance metric and barriers to imaging adoption in PCI. Weill Cornell Cardiology Fellowship SCAI Sunil V. Rao

Is intravascular imaging ready to be a performance measure in PCI? Adam Vohra and Dmitriy N. Feldman, MD explore its feasibility and challenges in CircInterventions . Promising, but not ready for prime time. Read more: bit.ly/3CDlyib

Excited to contribute this editorial in the American Journal of Cardiology (with Dmitriy N. Feldman, MD) discussing incorporating hemodynamics and peri-procedural physiology into peripheral interventions. More research is needed on how to best use this data to improve outcomes. ajconline.org/article/S0002-…

Congrats to the ‘30 in their 30s’ SCAI winners #SCAI2025!! The future of IC is bright! And so proud of my 2 superstar prior fellows Lindsay Elbaum, MD, FACC, FSCAI and Konstantinos Voudris for this achievement! Srihari S. Naidu, MD James Hermiller Binita Shah Sunil V. Rao

Drs. Noura Choudhury, MD & Marina Garassino have a great new paper out in The Lancet about the importance of the maintenance phase of treatment in extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer! You can read it at thelancet.com/journals/lance… #lungcancer #lungcancertreatment
