Does anyone have contact info for a producer Laura Coates CNN CNN Breaking News? I'm press rights chair for Los Angeles Press Club and negotiated the language of law the exempts press from arrest at these events. Her guests are spouting very wrong information. CA Penal Code 409.7!

I've been in touch with CNN and we'll follow up more tomorrow. As many heard on air, reporter was let go but CNN security guards were arrested. Security is "duly authorized representative" of news media and exempt from arrest, so also addressing with LAPD + Mayor's office.

In 2021, I made a slideshow from 50+ incidents of police misconduct toward journalists. It covered all CA over 12 month period. Legislature responded w/new laws to protect press. I made a new one. It's bigger. It's worse. And it's just one week in LA. docs.google.com/presentation/d…
