The NRI Agronomy group keeps getting bigger and better every year. A privilege to be one of the organisers helping coordinate a big group to learn and share ideas and knowledge. Even got the ABC VIC country hour stream live one day, Great couple of days 👌🏻.

The ryegrass germination west of Esperance is one of the best I have seen in many years. Feels like the 21/22 big years seed set has finally made a it’s way through. Bodes well to have a little less pressure on the pre ems this year 👌🏻

Interesting strip trial comparison of 2L Humate 450 in with 100L UAN deep banded under canola after site had 100mm after seeding. Definitely some visual biomass differences across the paddock. Keen to watch for the season

What happens if we lose paraquat in our dry land cropping system? This trial explores alternative herbicide modes of action and use patterns. F&G and NRI agronomy teams across Australia are testing replicated treatments in varied environments & weed spectrums.

Not usually thinking about canola fungicide decisions on the 10th of June. Crops are humming but a bit of cold weather wouldn’t go astray ❄️❄️

It’s been all go in Argentina. Yesterday was a big day at Spraytec global offices, factory and finishing with trial and paddock chats. Fantastic to learn about the Argentinian cropping systems and Spraytec history and company background.

Ibera wetlands in northern Argentina. Large reclaimed area (400k ha) that they have regenerated and repopulated with various species. Amazing to see Capybara, alligators, macaws, native fox & many many birds. Credit to them for reintroducing once extinct species to the area.

Iguazu falls, first from the Brazilian side and then today from the Argentinian side and topped off by a boat ride to get totally soaked by the falls. Big crowds but worth the epic view of one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. 1.7 cubic M per second today 🤯

Australian wheat farmers have been achieving phenomenal productivity progress despite challenging seasonal conditions and some of the world’s most difficult soil types to work with. Since the 1980s, innovation has helped lift yields even as growing season rainfall has fallen in

Another road trip for Agbyte. Heading across the Nullarbor for a week of new weather station, soil moisture probe & tank level installations around Esperance. Have got a few extra parts on board, if you are in the region & would like a monitoring site, please get in touch.
