I see a lot of indie authors discussing how they struggle to afford art commissions, so I thought I would have a lil sale for yall! 🩷🩷

I'm tired of this conversation popping up every week. Being disabled means something. We literally can't do things. We aren't getting special treatment. And yes before all these services existed. Disabled people DIED. If you truly cared, you'd advocate for better programs.

I drove an ambulance in the eighties. We routinely went to homes for wellness checks to find deceased starved seniors and disabled folks. Most of whom were trying to live on cheap canned cat or dog food. Now trump kills the programs we started to save them. You people are ghouls

Whilst I am on a roll with neoliberalism, I want to spell out how I think this neoliberal agenda was laid out in a very corrupting and manipulative fashion. I have never seen or heard anyone else say this. This was derived from my own contemporary observation. 1/🧵

Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

A key point in Fahrenheit 451 is that books were banned because they made people depressed and uncomfortable. The novel's protagonist, Montag, is taken into custody after he reads a poem that makes a woman cry because she realizes the emptiness of her life.

Blue whales are falling silent from hunger. The krill are gone. The sea is too warm. Their songs fade away. This is no anomaly. Humanity is deaf to a symphony of grief and warning. apple.news/AlyT1TDPEQ2eNm…

if you're aware of the impact of AI—poisoning air and water to make people sick, traumatizing training workers, bumping electric bills for households, stealing artists' work, psychosis, brain rot, junkifying the internet—and you still choose to use it, it IS a moral failing.

Exactly what I’ve been saying for years - the disinformation isn’t designed to make people believe specific things, it’s designed to make them *not believe anything*. All of this begins with the fossil fuel industry - they know they will be finished if we act on climate science

If you ask our editor, Jolie Toomajan, Mary Elizabeth Counselman was "a complex, problematic yet fascinating character who lived the dream of writing on her own steamboat which she filled with cats." We have her story "The Black Stone Statue" free here: bit.ly/3HfWLDe

We Like It Cherry, by Jacy Morris (pub by Tenebrous Press) is like the son between Midsommar and Green Inferno, a shocking folk horror novella that horror lovers will find excellent. Full thoughts: jamreads.com/reviews/we-lik…

5,000 residents in Richmond, VA ages 14 and up used #RankedChoiceVoting to help their city prioritize spending $3M in taxpayer funds. Whether better pedestrian crossings, planting trees, or new bus stops, RCV gives voters more choice and say in how government works for them.

Heyyyy, how about we go back to (checks notes) 4 years ago, when none of us used/needed this resource intensive, climate change accelerating, career obliterating wrong answer machine? Do you want to pay exponentially more for water and electricity? Then continue using this crap.
