The last resident doctor strike had more doctors striking than July 2023. You wouldn’t know it from the government’s spin and the media’s headlines. Doctors are standing together for full pay restoration and a safe NHS. The government must stop the rhetoric and move on pay.

"A newly qualified Physician Assistant should be working at a level below an FY1 doctor Any new advertised posts must reflect that" There is absolutely nothing that should stop Royal College of Physicians-the 'Home' of PHYSICIANS to be saying that about 'PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS' Nothing at all

“The main reasons GPs gave for cutting back on PAs included: - guidance from professional bodies - supervision demands - patient safety concerns - & rising complaints.” Partners shouldn’t have been employing PAs in the 1st place - all of the above were entirely foreseeable.

Nurses are highly skilled in their own field But they have NOT studied medicine & should NOT be supervising senior doctors, let alone claiming equivalence to consultants?! It’s this sheer arrogance & lack of insight which is the biggest danger to patients 🚩

Clearly there is a nursing requirement for patients in plastic surgery. Mobility, hygiene, wound healing, graft viability, dressings (type/size/application etc!!), patient education, and patient advocacy all of which become increasingly important with increasing patient

The NHS is in a perpetual winter crisis. Patients wait 12 hours on trolleys while trained doctors sit unemployed. This is political failure. The solution is simple: hire more doctors/nurses, open beds, and value the workforce. theguardian.com/society/2025/s…

I have been working as a doctor for two years. With repayments, I don't even cover the interest on my loan. My balance sits at £106k and it will continue to grow, acting as a graduate tax for most of my working life. A clear area of angst amongst my generation of doctors.

20 years ago the only real difference between going private & NHS was choosing your consultant, waiting a little less and getting a nice ☕️ The 10 year plan makes it pretty clear you might not even see a Dr in the NHS now, let alone a consultant Two tier … … is here 🤷‍♂️

Can’t get a GP appointment. Granny stuck on a trolley in A&E for 12 hours waiting to be seen. Doctors replaced by non-medically qualified Physician Assistants. Meanwhile, doctors without training jobs are delivering pizzas to make ends meet. What a crazy world!

How many Drs who qualified the same time as me ever thought they’d see this in their lifetime? Isn’t science (and aren’t experts) great?

Mr Streeting has said "there isn't a more pro NHS, pro doctor health secretary." Then why are doctors going unemployed? Why are PAs paid more than docs? Why has full pay restoration stalled? Why is the NHS being privatised? Why are PFIs back? The bar must be incredibly low.

I struggle to understand how there isn’t widespread alarm and panic in medical leadership about the hardships young doctors face and their bleak future. I cannot believe the lack of discussion and planning around neighbourhoods and postgraduate medical education reforms over the
