I met Shakti Sinha for the first time at a conference. I didn't know many of the people there; he did. Some of the attendees tried to bully me. He stepped in & backed me up - he didn't have to; he barely knew me, might not even have agreed with my point. But he stepped in. RIP.

Shakti Sir has taught me many things over the years. But one lesson that I always take me is: no matter the situation, just close your eyes & breathe. Thank you for mentoring & encouraging that awkward and shy girl since 2015. Thank you for always being just a phone call away.

As many have highlighted shakti sinha was truly encouraging and supportive of young scholars in India. I too have benefitted immensely from his views and guidance, he really stood up for many younger scholars. This is awfully sad news. RIP Sir.
