We call on University of Leeds to respect the right to peaceful protest and assembly, and to constructively engage with the students’ grievances and demands, many of which are in agreement with Leeds University UCU resolutions and positions.

Lack of constructive engagement is symptomatic of a wider trend of unrepresentative centralised decision making which has detrimented campus relationships. It’s time to change course, beginning with ensuring the safety of the students & constructively engaging with their demands.
