Starting to get some new exciting results from our research heat induced partial fertility. This is a key issue for hybrid sorghum seed production in hot environments. Dream team Tolera Keno Emma Mace Alison Kelly Ivan Calvert David Jordan funded by Australian Research Council and Gentech seeds

Our ARC Centre of Excellence for Plant Success divergent selection experiment is in full swing led by Sofie Pearson. 6000 individually RFID tagged plants phenotypes before flowering enabling data driven crosses to be made. Great support for this work from Sean Reynolds Massey and Colleen Hunt #logistics #fielddata

Longer grain fill duration GFD has the potential to increase yield and seed size in sorghum according to Otwani Daniel Ajaku

Hive of activity in our GRDC funded sorghum lodging project in collaboration with Pacific Seeds and Qld DPI. Geetika is managing the experiment with help today from Catherine Ajaku 🇮🇱

Congratulations to Otwani Daniel Ajaku who successfully defended his PhD research investigating the genetics and physiology of grain filling duration in sorghum. High quality impactful research QLD Alliance for Agriculture & Food Innovation UQ News
