I am very saddened by this news. Jerry always impressed me by his creative way of thinking about difficult questions, clinical and otherwise. We not always agreed, but I always enjoyed the discussions. A giant in renal education. The renal community will miss him very much!

Many Yale New Haven Hosp worked on this but highlighting Abinet Aklilu from Yale Nephrology who has played a local, regional, and national role in this. I remember the renal rounds where she first spoke about this topic- you inspired us then Abinet and you do so now to seek what is right.

Great thread from F. Perry Wilson, MD MSCE on our paper on outcomes of IV meds in HTN urgencies. The message is clear: don't use! The alternatives are clear: if no TOD, adjust chronic Rx. If TOD (these data don't apply), treat with adjustable IV meds in the ICU.

First report of neurogenic orthostatic hypotension due to VEGF-inhibition with sorafenib, just published by Catherine Wegner Wippel when working with us at Yale Internal Medicine (now an intern at @WashUIMRes). Nice work, Catherine! casereports.bmj.com/content/15/12/โ€ฆ

Very sad news of the death of George Bakris on Saturday 6/15. He was a good friend, coauthor, mentor/supporter, and the most recognizable leader in clinical Hypertension in our generation. I will miss his incomparable knowledge, enviable wit, and our always fun conversations.

Dr. Madhav delivered a beautiful MGR this morning on both non-HLA D-R mismatches & APOL1 high risk variant contributions to chronic allograft rejection. Two clear, compelling, & thought-provoking stories which inspired us all this morning. Incredible work Menon Lab!!
