Adam Fern It's a combo of 4 things combined imo: Best fit = Distribution + Tech + Support + Incentives The weighting of each is different for each project and team. The stronger teams put more weighting on the first three, and the less on financial incentives. It's pretty telling.

The least serious thing about the crypto industry today is the obsession with buybacks by purportedly high growth protocols. It’s actively discouraging the interest of growth capital (which is non-existent today) for the hope that the existing liquid funds will value these

been reflecting on this a lot recently - both as an observer and as an operator i do agree with A.J. Warner here i think the obsession with buybacks probably comes from 1/ historically widespread poor alignment and governance, and 2/ a general focus on token price management
