You know who LOVES infectious children being kept at home? The other 29 kids in a classroom that aren’t sick, want to learn, and want a break from the chaos of absent staff members, no cover work set, and getting sick themselves.

It's done it. TB cases in England have just bust past the 5,000 mark for the last 12 months. 5,001 people here diagnosed with TB in one year for the first time in *decades*. And it's still rising.

So what am I trying to do? An “Adaptive Teaching”🧵 Every teacher has had the following experience: You taught a lesson. A few students learned it all. Some of them learned a bit. But it seems that many students have learned nothing at all. What do we do about it?

More recently, a phrase called “adaptive teaching” has become fashionable. Broadly, the idea here is that every child will complete the same task - “high expectations”. We will provide more “scaffolding” for some children, so they can access the task.

Here is an example of the sort of highly scaffolded resources that might be used in “adaptive teaching”: One of the problems with using these sorts of resources is that they don't stretch the students at the top end - the resources are infantilising.

🚨 Do you remember when this dingdong said that TB incidence would make the best bellwether for Covid induced post-infection immune damage, back in 2022? Look what has happened since then. Like the man says: **"Latent TB turns into active disease in immunocompromised people"**

Andre Henriques One has to wonder why those who authored the IPC guidance published 13 March 2020 (downgrading protection for most healthcare workers from FFP3 to FRSM) did not know this? They should have - the 1 million+ HCWs trusted them. And why did HSE knowingly permit them to do this.

Andre Henriques A good question to ask HSE at their AGM (29 Jul). I have my own questions for them so can't, but anyone wanting to ask why HSE stood back & allowed this to happen can register for the AGM online here hse-agm.co.uk/home#home Then submit an advance question Pls post here if you do

Young doctors in England are getting sicker - and fast. For decades the levels of sickness absence of NHS Staff were stable, until Covid infections arrived. Now, in all three of these groups, sickness absence rates have *more than doubled*. And they're STILL CLIMBING.

Hello Matt Chorley Hugh Pym following your suggestion on yesterday’s show that lockdowns caused the mental health problems with which many children are now suffering, what do you make of this study referenced in the tweet below?

The sun is shining. I have had a coffee and a muffin and sent some emails to Bristol councillors to tell them about Clean Air for Kids. A good start to the day. Now the boring tasks at home. Look forward to sending more emails at my next coffee break!😊 x.com/CleanAir4KidsU…

💼 Clean air in workplace means clearer thinking, fewer sick days, and a real boost in productivity. If the air in your workspace feels stuffy, it’s time to think about clean air solutions. Your team will thank you for it. The Blast in action at Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) #CleanAirAtWork

"Ventilation is also really important to lower carbon dioxide in classrooms, which is linked to attention & can reduce the risk of spreading infections" Clean Air for Kids campaigns for better ventilation & filtration in classrooms. Can you help Gary Fuller?

See below tweet - great work by Michelle O'Connor aka Alcochofa If you want to send letters to politicians to ask them to provide clean air for kids in schools, template letters are at this link (letters are written for Bristol, but you can amend them)… Clean Air for Kids cleanairforkids.co.uk/help-us
