A3. I do love a bit of research. The ghost train is based on the real-life Necropolis Railway which used to run from 121 Westminster Bridge Road carrying London’s dead. It’s well worth a google. #ukteenchat #spooksmithsinvestigate

A4. There’s a scene where Rusty is trying to wrestle a vol-au-vent from Fang the rat so they can get on with their quest to find the crystal ball and save his parents, but Fang is hungry and having none of it. #ukteenchat #spooksmithsinvestigate

A6. Definitely. There's something creepy about the temporary, here today and gone tomorrow nature of them and then there are the acts themselves. Everywhere you look there’s danger and mystery – from the acrobats down to the clowns. What’s really behind the make-up and costumes?

A7. I think I’m quicker and more focused than I used to be. I save all the worrying until after the story is on the page. At that point, I agonise over whether anyone will actually want to read it. #ukteenchat #spooksmithsinvestigate
