The morning after the night before. A quite unique live experience. Sparks were incredible, and for this seasoned gig goer of over 50 years I’ve got to say last night’s show is right up there as one of the best I’ve ever seen. S P A R K S

Kudos to The Hair Metal Guru to getting the great Gregg Giuffria on his show for 3+ hours for an intriguing insight into the career of the man. Angel, Guiffria and House Of Lords and so much more!

Faith No More - War Pigs (live Viña Del Mar Festival, Chile, February 6 1991) During the '80s, way before the tribute-album rage of the mid '90s, Faith No More was one of the few bands that covered a Black Sabbath song on "The Real Thing" album (1989). youtu.be/pQYNedrGSP4?si…

Farewell, Chuck Mangione (November 29, 1940 – July 22, 2025, Rochester, New York). "Feels So Good" (1977) was a huge Jazz/Pop crossover hit, as well as a genre-defining instrumental song for the Smooth Jazz genre. youtu.be/V7dg8vRDM68?si…

Metallica - Kill 'Em All 42 years ago on July 25, 1983 Metallica released their debut album. Deemed as the first Thrash Metal album of all time, all the elements that characterize thrash as a genre are already here, all together for the first time plus some NWOBHM influences.

Released 45 years ago on July 25 1980, AC/DC Back In Black is the best selling hard rock/metal album of all time. Produced by Mutt Lange, remarkable how AC/DC carried on after Bon Scott passing with classics like the title track, Hells Bells & Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution.

Giving a spin this evening to both (self titled) Storm albums from ‘79 & ‘83. Not to be confused with the Gregg Rolie fronted ‘The Storm’. Storm was a nigh on perfect blend of female fronted Melodic Pomp/Hard Rock. Influences include Queen, Zeppelin and Sweet…quite marvellous!!
