❌Kick 24/7 GRIND!!! ✅Go play video games and forget about kicking for the night.

❌Lift BIG weight!!! ✅Lift in a way that COMPLIMENTS the needs of kicking (stability, mobility, explosiveness and so on)

❌Kick 1,000 balls in warm ups. ✅Kick on a pitch count. You need your leg for the 3rd and 4th quarters!

❌ Defense on field: you are off your feet, stretch, water up. ⚠️ Offense inside own territory: helmet on loosely warm up. ✅ Offense crosses mid field: hit 1-2 warm up kicks into net, helmet on ready to go. ‼️3rd down standing by coach’s side ready for FG call.

❌Publicly blasting your kicker apart on the sidelines. ✅Encouraging kicker w/ pat on back. ⚠️Most kickers are WAY harder on themselves than any coach could ever be. There’s no need to make it worse.

The one thing a coach should never get upset about is their kicker being nit picky on the spot of the ball. 1 inch left or right of the intended spot, a weird tilt, or odd hold can be the difference b/n a game winner or a heart breaking miss.

Every kicker needs at least a full 24hrs OFF from not only physical kicking but mental kicking as well. Unplug. 🔌

Kicking the day before a game during walk through is always a head scratcher. If an MLB manager had their starting pitcher throw their best stuff in a World Series walk through they’d be fired. Why not have the backup or 3rd kicker go if you really want live kicking reps.
