Stochasticity controls robustness in embryogenesis. Although it may sound counterintuitive, this is one of the conclusions we defend in our preprint "Temporal variability and cell mechanics control robustness in mammalian embryogenesis" (bioRχiv: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…).
