cool work investigating Diatom Myo51s in gliding motility! DiezLab Gliding motility of the diatom Craspedostauros australis coincides with the intracellular movement of raphid-specific myosins. doi.org/10.1038/s42003…

I am also following the mass migration to 🦋 Anthony Sciortino - but I will stay here too, crossposting or whatever. A bit to hold the fort, a bit for the good memoires and for my network, but mostly because this place is amazing fuel for my social rage 🔥

On my way to #CellBio2024 in San Diego! I will talk in the "Physical Biology of the cytoplasm" subgroup on saturday at 12.15pm in Room 33B! Come if we want to hear about our last results on competitive networks!

It's the time of the year when I make a XMas themed experiment: this year, a micropatterned branched actin network with myosin, aka a Christmarp(2/3) tree! Happy Holidays all🥳🥳 This might be my last christmas on X/Twitter, so meet me on 🦋 for more ! > asciortino.bsky.social

New preprint!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 For the 10 of you who are still here here's the link, you can find the full thread with cool movies on a different platform whose name you can guess by now :-) leave this place, people - the science is elsewhere! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Thrilled to have this work out!! What strategy would physicists Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and PhysicsOfLifeLMU use to engineer cell shapes? Using an optogenetics tool we Tom Burkart managed to unlock a phase map for deformable cell geometries. A wonderful collaboration from the lovely days Nikta Fakhri!
