A while since sunset, but the sky is still aglow in the most enchanting way over the The Shiant Isles and the Outer Hebrides.


Looking out across vivid, lemony gorse on the headland towards the The Shiant Isles and the Hebrides late yesterday.











The The Shiant Isles and Lewis yesterday, almost hovering over a hazy Minch, from here… looking out over swathes of Bog Cotton on the headland.


Went to the opening reception of the 49th St Magnus Festival festival, then paddled out to Gairsay (the island where Orkney's most famous Viking, Sweyn Asleifsson, had his drinking hall). This view, from Gairsay's hill, across most of Norse & Neolithic Orkney, quite a way to end the day.
