Lawrence Dunhill 1. It's really depressing that the focus is on 76%. This will inevitably focus effort on the 'quick wins' and discharged patients. Meanwhile there is deafening silence about the utterly miserable 12 hour (from time of arrival) stays.

Poor leadership is building a great team and doing everything in your power to hold onto control. Recruiting the best people and tying their hands by not giving them the freedom to perform makes no sense. If you want to be a leader, give your team the space to work. #brilliant

@codingbrown agree. organisational culture is not what’s on the website it’s what they do. Culture = behaviour x frequency. For IPS refusal The 2 questions I ask is “would you accept that care for your relative?/Can you give us a patient centred reason why you are not?” It’s normally no.

Met a wonderful staff nurse in RAU #UHDB today who uses a fantastic analogy to explain to patients what proteinurea is (I will definitely be taking this analogy back to Diabetes). If you are ever passing RAU on 409, you must pop in and meet Megan! 🌟 UHDB Renal Team

Well done to ward 3 at Queens Hospital Burton on receiving an EOLC Achievement award, for going above and beyond for a dying patient. Complex arrangements were made for the patient to meet some of their final wishes and give their family some beautiful memories. Great work!
