Dr Ally Huang, PhD shares with Dr Kate Rubins the science behind BioBits® that will enable the next Genes in Space expt on the Intl Space Station soon!

Thanks to Kate Rubins for visiting here us at miniPCR bio (and testing the protocol of the next Genes in Space experiment using BioBits!)

Had a fun morning talking biology with Dr. Kate Rubins (Kate Rubins), astronaut and fellow scientist! Shared my work on BioBits® and @minipcr and even had her set up some BioBits reactions. Just one more month before BioBits goes up to the ISS with Genes in Space! 🧬🚀

Insane that my main thesis project is going to SPACE! And I get to go watch it actually launch in a few weeks with my BioBits co-developer, Jessica Stark! Thanks to miniPCR bio and Genes in Space for making this happen.

I previously said launching BioBits as an actual classroom kit was like being a parent on the first day of school. Launching to space is like sending them off to college! Genes in Space miniPCR bio Jessica Stark

This is just the coolest - BioBits® ready for liftoff! 🚀🧬 Catch my partner in crime Ally Huang, PhD handling the precious cargo ISS_Research International Space Station miniPCR bio Genes in Space #STEMeducation #cellfree #SynBio

OMG look at these INCREDIBLE cupcakes by Ally Huang, PhD A delish @minipcr birthday celebration - each one a work for edible art 😍🙏

Selin’s winning Genes in Space experiment utilizes BioBits and is currently on the ISS! 🛰

We've published a thing! STOKED to be announcing a new student-led paper in collaboration with Genes in Space, The Boeing Company, ISS National Lab, Michael C. Jewett, Ally Huang, PhD and others. TL;DR We've used cell-free tech to make biosensors in outer space! 🧵
